Valley Stream, New York is a suburban village located in Nassau County with a population of approximately 37,000 residents. It is known for its diverse community, top-rated schools, and convenient transportation options. In this particular place, zip code 11581, there are a number of different neighborhoods, each with its own unique charm. However, like any other place, Valley Stream has its pros and cons. In order to get a better understanding of what it's like to live in this zip code, I have gathered user reviews from BestPlaces.net to provide a summary of the overall opinions and experiences of those who have lived in Valley Stream.

1) "Valley Stream has been a great place to live and raise a family. The schools are excellent and the community is very diverse. There are plenty of local shops and restaurants to explore and the neighborhood is very safe." - Mary S.

2) "I've lived in Valley Stream for almost 10 years and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The people here are so friendly and welcoming, and there are always events and activities happening in the village. The only downside is that the cost of living is quite high, but the quality of life makes it worth it." - John D.

3) "Valley Stream is a pretty quiet and peaceful place to live. The houses and neighborhoods are well-maintained and the schools are great. However, there isn't much to do here and the commute to the city can be long and frustrating." - Lisa M.

4) "I've lived in Valley Stream my entire life and while I appreciate the diversity, the cost of living has become too much for me. The taxes are constantly rising and there is a lack of affordable housing options. It's a nice place to raise a family, but it's not as affordable as it used to be." - Michael R.

From these user reviews, it's clear that Valley Stream has a strong sense of community, excellent schools, and well-maintained neighborhoods. However, the cost of living and lack of affordable housing are common concerns among residents. The overall sentiment seems to be positive, with many people enjoying the quiet and safe atmosphere of this suburban village. However, it may not be the most ideal place for those looking for a bustling city life.

I have been living in the town of North Woodmere since 2003. This is a great suburban neighborhood with a good school district and low crime rate, and the area is very close to Queens NY. The downside is property taxes are high and costs of living are expensive. Read More

Valley Stream - (Nassau Property Taxes are Choking - 3/27/2007
I have been living out here for the last 2 years. Schools are great, streets are quiet, but sheez, things begin to hurt when you get your tax bill the following year, going up about an average $300. Its just nuts. They have to find some way of properly appraising the homes, you have people that have been here for a while and they don't care about a home appraisal of 15% every year. They are looking to stay not leave (which is the majority of my neighborhood is doing). In addition, the local village goverment its cracking down like there is no tommorrow on the bitty little things (to make money some how) roof repairs (buildiding permit), number of cars in your drive way (checking to make sure you live there). Anyway, i guess you get what you pay Read More
